Week In Review 46 2009

Sunday 8th
The wee hours of the morning, I started off with an explanation of my #SurvivalMonths Challenge. I’m going on my 5th week now with no trips to the store for groceries.

During the day I wrapped up and got a taste test of the several pounds of sea salted salmon I started drying on Saturday. Lunch was a soup created from the left over salmon spine. This was a fish I caught and froze a few months ago. Dinner: A soup made of Venison & carrots.

  • Dried Sea Salted Salmon
  • Salmon Bone Broth Soup
  • Venison Carrot Egg Soup

Next I laid out the plan for my 6th week on the 6-Week Cure.


Monday 9th
Fasted Sunday night – Tuesday morning (36 hours).

Wrote Pushing Puke in response to New York Times article “Chocolate Milk May Reduce Inflammation“.


Tuesday 10th
Morning: Forced up early by the irritating squirrels. Husked a bunch of walnuts. Broke-fast with Coconut flakes, kefir acid whey and Brazil nuts. Dinner: Slow cooked Elk Backstrap with zucchini & carrots fried in butter.

  • Black Walnut Husking
  • Coconut Flakes, Kefir whey acid, Brazilnuts
  • Elk Backstraps, Fried carrots and zucchini

Wednesday 11th
25 hour fast broken with Salmon tail dinner.

  • Coho Salmon Tail

Thursday 12th
Wrote Kombucha Tea for Weight Loss. Went grouse hunting. Got nothing, but saw to buck deer.

Planned high-cal day. Snacked on meats all day and had two dinners. #1 at my parents house: Red snapper broiled in Butter, pine nuts & green onions, with celery. #2 Slow cooked Pork Roast.

  • Two Blacktail Buck Deet
  • Red Snapper Broiled in butter pine nuts and green onions, Celery
  • Slow cooked Pork Roast

Friday 13th
24 hour fast broken with Beef steak & mashed zucchini.

  • Beef steak and Mashed Zucchini

Saturday 14th
Wee hours of the morning: Edited, uploaded and wrote Making Kombucha at Home

24 hour fast broken with slow cooked Beef steak, broccoli & carrots.

  • Slow Cooked Beef Steak, Broccoli and Carrots

    CastleGrok has wanted to write a book for years, but other than my “White Trash Recipe Collection” from a previous life (which ironically consisted almost entirely of refined white ingredients)… I’ve never wanted to write a cookbook. Ha-ha
