    Ohh…I didn’t realise it was a black powder rifle. Interesting :) I also had no idea how the gun actually fired either; good history lesson.

    @Jedidja, they are quite the experience to shoot. These newer ones are quite a bit more high tech and “modern rifle like” in there feel and basic functions. But, you still one have one shot, forced to reload from the business end, and are much more susceptible to the elements.

    The first one I ever shot (14 years ago) was an old Kentucky style rifle. When I pulled the trigger it was like hopping into a time machine! Neat experience!

    (Keep in mind I’ve probably fired over 1,000,000 rounds of modern cartridges. I don’t have many new experiences with firearms anymore)

    @Meeses – Heck yes! In the fall they are everywhere! Sometimes you can’t go more than 5-10 feet down a trail without hitting a web.

    You wouldn’t not starve if you were a spider hunter.
