The meat has very undesirable strong game/shit flavor if not dressed fairly quickly. He was dead about 12 hours. Really didn't run very far. Maybe 150 meters from the shot. The ground is such that there is almost no tracks and the brush was thick in spots. I also didn't see the whole event happen, as I was brought in hours later. @phareon,

I've never been hunting, or gutted an animal or anything. I had initial sort of "gross out" when I saw the guts, but I think I could handle it lol. So if the guts are in there too long it somehow spoils all the meat? Do you know how long it was dead for? Or the time between the shooting and when you found it? How far did it travel?!? No idea. A bunch of the meat isn't going to be eatable because the guts were in too long. This one went down quickly, but all bleeding was internally which made it hard to find.
