Chronicles of a Modern Caveman

6 Week Cure… Week 5 update

6 Week Cure Week 6

Again… since I don’t have a middle-aged middle, I’m using the 6 Week Cure as a bodybuilding diet. If you wan’t to try the diet (which I recommend) you do not have to try and sustain my caloric intake numbers to have great results! This is NOT part of Dr. Eades protocol outlined in the book. These numbers are my modifications to continue propelling me into single digit bodyfat levels.

I just finished my 5th week today (Nov 8th)

I was a little weak all this week, but I think that’s mostly due to sitting in front of the computer working too much. I am still doing some resistance training & zero cardio. I feel really great and am down 11 lbs total. Again none of that is water weight. My weighing protocol is a minimum of 12 (usually 20) hours fasted, after a BM and also dehydrated. The conditions are as close to the same as it gets. I’m pretty in tune with my body. I know when I’m holding onto water etc…

Weeks 1 & 2 both had 3# loss averages
Weeks 3 & 4 both had 2# loss averages
Week 5 down to 1# loss average – Bummer!

I was hoping to get back up to a 3 pound average this week with the huge deficit. 1 pound at my bodyfat is still pretty good, but I’m greedy and want more! ;) Lets see if this weeks plan can mix things up a little….

Week 6’s Plan – A Meat Week

Instead of 7 straight days of sub-700 calories, I will be alternating days with fasting. Also going to make an effort to be more active. I’ll probably up the hunting/hiking.

  • I will be eating a 2,000 calories or so tonight
  • Fast until Tuesday (48hr fast?). Eat 1,500-ish  calories
  • Skip: Wednesday
  • Eat: Thursday 1,500-ish  calories
  • Skip: Friday
  • Eat: Saturday 1,500-ish  calories

Goal: Stay under 850 calorie/20net carb average using this calorie cycling. This is about a 50% reduction of my sedentary or resting metabolic rate.

You can Track my daily macro Intake on my Food Log Page for this diet.

That sounds like a very tough week, good luck. I am looking forward to the results.

I havent read the book yet, I have ordered it now that I am back home, but it has to come from UK to Spain via Amazon.

    Thanks for sharing.

@ thania1 – Thanks for your comments. Really the only tough part was looking at the scale.

I’m still seeing body composition results (which is all I care about), so it’s a bit dumb for me to get upset. I’m a numbers guy, so I think I just wanted numbers since I’m not doing a photo journal and the “lbs lost” is what’s important in most peoples minds.

Totally re-focused now. I DO NOT HAVE TIME to get sidetracked if I want to reach my goals, which apparently is still a long road to travel in a relatively short period.

I may do an article about women and fat loss soon, so come back often :)

Sounds like an intense week Grok, it seems to simulate a hunters diet. ie…get a kill and eat as much as you can, then not find anything for a day or two, get another kill ect…

Keep up the good work, I love your site!

    @Paleo Addict, That’s exactly what it is. I’m a real-live computer using caveman ;)

Thanks a bunch for visiting and the kind words. Lots more stuff to come. It just cuts into my hunting time! Priorities :)
